Sport and solidarity
In 2019 as well : a “Charity run”
to support the Hôpital du Jura bernois (Bernese Jura hospital)
The Reformed Parish of Tramelan was the organiser of the Tramelan Triathlon from 1992 to 2011 and paid substantially all the profit of the event to a charitable organization. In that respect, more than CHF 40’000.- were given during these years.
The Association Sportive Triathlon Tramelan (ASTT) took over the organisation in 2013. The members decided to perpetuate the tradition started by the former organiser: donate a part of the profit to a disabled person or to a charitable institution for a specific need.
The ASTT donated therefore around CHF 21’000 between 2013 and 2017 to four persons and to an institution, notably thanks to the generosity of sponsors and donors aware of this principle of solidarity.
The organisers decided to proceed differently in June 2018, on the occasion of the first edition of the POWERMAN DUATHLON WORLD SERIES OF TRAMELAN: they created a new popular race, the “Charity run”, a 5km run. Competitors pay a CHF 40.- inscription fee and may find sponsors who accept to donate and finance partially or fully the competitor’s participation.
The organisers will to repeat this in June 2019 and, as in 2018, the Hôpital du Jura Bernois will be beneficiary.
The whole amount paid by the competitors will then be offered to the hôpital du Jura bernois who will invest in new oxygen concentrators for patients suffering from a respiratory failure.
The organisers of the Tramelan POWERMAN and Triathlon 2018 warmly thank the board of directors and the hospital management of the HJB who accepted to be partners of the event. They are happy to be able, once more, to support a local structure that is related to health and sports.
